In 2012, the venue of the European Capital of Culture with its narrower neighborhood will be adapted in a way that will provide an easy access for people with disabilities. In line with the philosophy of Smetumet, original equipment will be produced from waste and natural materials, raising awareness and galvanize playful public spaces. With environmental and social messages it will be a useful and aesthetical complementation of the overall image of the city. The creative workshops, guerrilla campaigns and other public interventions, actions of garbage collection and an open competition for slogans will be changing the image of cities and mentality of people - slowly and thoroughly, sometimes temporarily, other times on a more permanent basis, but always as sustainable as possible. All the partners involved, from volunteers, educational institutions, homes for the elderly, associations people with disabilities to societies, institutions and businesses, local restaurants, organizations and other partners and employees, will help to create an environment that is more accessible and friendly to all users of the city - not only in technical side, but particularly at the level of understanding, mutual support, creative co-existence and relaxed atmosphere.
